Nea Potidea

Kalithea – Solina

This site was originally inhabited by Macedonias, and it is really interesting due to its placement on two rounded hills. Stagira is one of those places embedded deep in history. According to historians, it is believed to be the birthplace of the philosopher Aristotle. Mount Athos
(Agion Oros or Holy Mountain)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a self-governed part of the Greek State, administrated by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople (Istanbul). It plays, without a doubt, one of the most significant roles in Orthodox Christianity. Apart from the greatness of the monasteries, and the spiritual connection, it is worth visiting and seeing how monks and visitors lead a simple life with no modern facilities to be found around.
Disclaimer: Women are not allowed to enter Mount Athos, only men. All visitors must obtain a pass entrance from the Agion Oros office in Thessaloniki.
Prosforio Tower
The Byzantine Tower of Ouranoupolis
Built in the 14th century by monks to protect the area from enemy invasions, this tower has remarkable features. Due to attacks, it combines both traits from the Byzantine period, as well as the 19th century when parts of it were reconstructed. It is also the biggest and the best-maintained tower in Halkidiki, and you need to pay a visit and see for yourself its magnificence.

An Orthodox monastery dedicated to Saint Nicholas that you can find on top of a rock near the shore of the Athonite Peninsula. With a fortress-like appearance, you will feel like you are visiting a castle and not so much a traditional monastery. The site will leave you with a wonderful feeling, with all the greenery, the blue sky, and the sound of the sea.
